Commitment with heart: trainees and students prepare a special day for the children at Helen Keller School
On 18 July 2024, six trainees and students from the Schopfheim site visited the Helen Keller School in Maulburg. The special educational facility specialises in children with mental disabilities, physical impairments and developmental delays.
The visit took place as part of the "Social Commitment" project. Our trainees wanted to give the pupils a fun and varied day with creative craft and painting activities. With a lot of love and preparation, our trainees brought along wooden 3D puzzles from which the children could choose their favourite model from a variety of animals, vehicles and dinosaurs. 🦕🚗🐘
The children put the puzzles together with the help of the trainees, their trainers and the supervisors. The subsequent colouring of the kits was also a lot of fun. 🎨 The mandala labels made in Schopfheim were also diligently coloured in. 🖌️✨
At the end of the event, the children were presented with sweets and more mandalas, which made them very happy.
Many thanks to the Helen Keller School and our trainees for this wonderful event! This visit to Maulburg is an outstanding example of social commitment and shows how enriching such activities can be for the children as well as for the trainees and students.
